My name is Hans Jakob Theiler, but my friends and family call me Kobi. Roughly, it means "little Jakob" in Swiss German. I am a senior studying Public Policy, Economics, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Arts of the Moving Image at Duke University.

My desire to tell stories across visual and marketing mediums is largely a result of my visual arts background. I've always loved to paint, illustrate and do graphic design, for fun and as a freelancer. I also enjoy writing, storyboarding, and producing short films. I have strengths in concepting and the ability to transform ideas into outward facing projects.

My experiences on both the analytical and production sides of marketing have pushed my ability to work creatively with data-driven context. I've had fantastic opportunities to explore creativity in a diversity of settings. I've worked for an award-winning advertising agency, created a video & marketing production startup to benefit nonprofits, and even worked in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A uniting factor between these varied experiences is the pursuit of a product centered on a creative insight, a universal truth attained through an empathetic connection with an audience— a consumer, company or voter. I believe that creativity can serve as a window to expose audiences to realities unlike their own, and in turn be a driving force for change.
